The Last 1/3rd

Hey, we are now moving into the last 1/3rd of the open water fishing season. If you have not been out there, now's the time!
The walleyes are still on the reefs out on Lake of the Woods and still going strong. Lots of great eating sized fish being caught. I do have a couple of the "local" guides telling me of bigger fish starting to show up in the weeds now too. We have been selling record amounts of crawlers this year and lots of leeches too, but all the local guides stick with a jig tipped with a minnow.
I have had some real good lake trout fishermen in town this week and they had their best luck jigging in the 110 - 130 ft range. They did best on pink and glow colors.
Our pike had moved back into the weeds. The deepest weeds you can find will hold the better sized fish.
The night troll for musky has started. Not many "BIG" fish being caught right now, but lots in the mid 30 to mid 40 inch range being boated.
Congrats to our daughter Randi Rae and her new husband Matt, they were married last saturday and the wedding was as perfect as a wedding can be. We wish them both all the best!
