Dec. 29th

Just had a group through that had been from Fog to Rowan and across Crow. They said the traveling
on snow machines has never been better. Most places they drilled had around 12" of good ice!!!!!!!!
The crappies were not very aggressive again today. Those who did well were either "power fishing" or
using a finesse technique.
The weather was right at the melting point today and it's not supposed to get real cold until after the
weekend. We will probably end up with another inch or two of the white fluff over the next few days,
but I think most of the accumulation will be along the US/Canada border and south into Northern
Minnesota. I have lots of fresh ciscos, large, medium and small minnows on hand. Fish, Fish, Fish!!!

Ice Conditions/Crappie Fishing

It's tues. the 28th and what a nice day. The last couple of days the crappies have been a bit slower on the bite.
There are lots of fish, just not real aggressive. Most of the fisherman that have been willing to "change-up", and drill the extra few holes have been getting limits. Lake travel is very good and in most places there is around a foot of ice.
Gordy is hoping to have the road open by the weekend.
I think the trout opener is going to be a good one, with a great start on the ice conditions on Crow and Whitefish Bay. Some of the smaller back lakes have a bit of slush, but not enough to be a problem.
We will do our best to keep you posted on the fishing, the ice and traveling conditions.
Have A Great Day,
Phil

Goodmorning!

Crappie fishing was good again this week.  With limits being caught.  The guys are taking their snowmobiles and quads out on the ice.  Not much snow so the quads run along good.  They found 8 to 12 inches of ice in most spots.  Still there are the place that we always stay away from.  Gordy is hoping to have the ice road up and running before the New Year.  We have plenty of minnows on hand.  Also jigs, spoons, etc...  We hope you all have a Safe Holiday Season.  And hope to see you soon!  Our hours for the Holidays Dec. 26th, 6am-2pm, Dec 27th to Jan 2nd 6am-6pm.  We also have all the new licences for the 2011 season.

welcome fisherman

Welcome to our new Anglers Pro Shop Nestor Falls fishing blog.  This will keep us all up to date on the happenings in the fishing world of the far North.  We have 6 to 8 inches of good fishing ice on Lake of the Woods.  The local boys have been out and about on snowmobiles.  Giving us reports of good ice conditions.  But be leerly of the spots that are always a hazard.  Crappie fishing was good today. Reports of  limits of crappies being caught. Good fish-in boys!!  Keep us posted
