The Opener

Saturday was the opening of our walleye season and they had the "feed bag" on!!!
Sounded like everyone had a good bite.
The majority of the fish came out of the 6 to 12 foot range in the sandy bays. Some
of the fishermen fished the current in the channels in 15 to 25 feet and did well too.
The lake trout are still up. The best bite has been trolling. Rapala DT's and flutter
spoons pulled at 3/4 to 1-1/4 mph was really good yesterday. Crow Lake Specials
with a cisco was also working.
The crappies were just getting into the weeds (mainly big males) and the cold windy
weather kicked them off some, but they will move back in today.
Lots of Northerns too. They are in the bays chasing the shiner minnows. They are
eating anything you throw that looks like a minnow.
If you have any question about our store, our area or our fishing, please feel free to

Are You Ready???

All the lakes in the area have been ice-free for a couple of weeks now and the fisherman
are starting to trickle through.
So far we have mainly had trout fisherman in, only a couple of groups of pike and crappie
fisherman.
For the most part, all have had good fishing!
Our water temps are still a little cool for the crappies, the ones that they are catching are
still in the fall/winter holes.
The trout on most of the lakes have had the "feed bag" on for the last week or better.
The troll has been good on Whitefish Bay in the 20 - 40 foot range, most are using crank baits and
minnow immitations. I have had a few groups doing well jigging with tubes too.
The water temps on Crow lake are in the mid-40's and the trout are EVERYWHERE!
Trolling in the 20 - 40 foot range has been producing the biggest fish, while jigging in the 50 - 80
foot depths is producing the better numbers of eating sized fish.
If you have yet to get your trip planned, you had better get at it!!!
If you need any questions answered, feel free to email or give us a call.
We are hoping to see you all soon,
Phillip
