It All Sounds Great

I have had lots of fishermen through now and it sounds like the fishing has been fantastic!!!!
All the fish seem to be right where they are supposed to be.
The trout trout are in that 40 to 60 foot range.
The northerns are in the bays. The walleyes are EVERYWHERE and the crappies are trying
to get at the spawning beds. Loads of jumbo sized perch too.
It is still mainly a minnow bite, but I am guessing that if we can manage to get a couple of sunny
days it will not matter if you hang a minnow a leech or a crawler down.
The guides are saying that it is one of the best "bites" they have seen in years.
I sure hope you are on your way here, I don't want anyone to miss the action.

A Week Into It

Well, we are a day shy of being a week into the main part of the fishing season. Just about every fishing report has been good so far. Seems the "odd" party is not catching, but I am not sure they could catch a minnow in my minnow tank.
Sometimes people are just to proud to ask for help, and others just do not know that that is what we are here for. We talk to lots of people, guides and resort owners daily and can usually help those out that are not catching fish.
Anyway, it sounds like all the fish species are right on track as to where they should be this time of the year.
The walleye are on the shoreline, northerns in the bays, crappies on the spawn and the trout are everywhere.
I have also been told of some great small mouth fishing by a couple or our local guides.
For the most part, the weather has been conducive for both the fish and the fishermen. A little windy at times,
but all in all, very good.
So, if you need any information or product just let us know.

The Walleye Opener

Although I only had a few soggy reports, most were very good. The fish were a little scattered with
the weather front that moved in for the opener. The smaller lakes had a better bite than L.O.T.W. did.
The crappie fishing has been very good on a couple of the smaller lakes and is just starting on L.O.T.W..
The northern fishing has been very good on L.O.T.W. with lots of nice "slot" fish being caught.
The lake trout are still biting good too.
So, that is my story and I am sticking to it (at least for now)!!!!

We Are Here And Waiting For You

Sorry about the delay with our reports, we had seemingly got side-tracked in the off season with our farm and "horsing" around.
The lakes have been clear of ice for about three weeks now and the trout fishing has been very good for most. The ice-out pike fishermen we had in did plenty good too.
We are expecting the walleye opener (sat. 21st) to be a great opener this year. The walleyes had spawned about a week ago and should be rested up and ready to eat.
We are almost done with a few small renovations in the store and waiting on a couple of orders of tackle to get here, but other than that we are just waiting to see you.

It's Time To Fish!!!

Are you ready? The lakes are open and the trout are biting. We are very busy at the store making sure we are ready for your arrival. The tackle orders are coming and some small remodeling jobs are getting done.
Cindy and I had the first real break this last two weeks we have had in many years, and it was nice!
We rode our horses lots and tried to get our farm ready for the summer. The weather was a little unstable
at times, but we managed to get most of the major projects done.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you regulars again and are also hoping to meet a few new folks.
We hope you have all had a good winter and will be seeing you soon.
Cindy and Phil
