We are well on our way to having some of the best lake traveling conditions ever. Plenty of good ice and enough snow for snomobiles and not to to much for your ATV's.
The trout fishing has been real good. All the trout lakes seem to be producing too. Lot of good sized eating fish and lots of fish being released that are 8 lbs and up. The biggest trout I have been told of, was a 44" that
was caught on Whitefish Bay. Yes, it was released.
There also seems to be no shortage of walleyes this winter over on Sabaskong Bay. The bite seems to be a little deeper this winter (25 - 35 ft), but very good.
The perch bite has not let off either. Most days it does not take many holes and you will find one that has perch as fast as you get your bait down. Mmmmm, good eating and fun to catch.
Our crappies have been moving like crazy, it has been hard to stay on a school. Seems you no sooner find them and they are gone. I am not much for waiting for them, so the spots I have been fishing look like Swiss Cheese for holes.
All in all, our weather has been way warmer than normal. We are having a bit of a "deep freeze" the last couple of days, but other than that, VERY NICE!
Hope To See You Soon!!!
